The Circle Skirt is very full. It falls in graceful folds from a fitted waistline to a sweeping, full hemline. Special care was taken while designing to make the fullness drape gracefully, avoiding any unflattering folds. Shown here, in several fabrics, are a close up front view, back view and side view. As you can see, the fabric chosen can give a style a completely different look and feeling, changing it from casual to formal.

Notice the smooth fit of the elastic waistband (Bamboo Flower Velvet). There are no gathers. The fit and drape of the stretch fabric is the same as that of the woven fabrics.

Zipper Detail - Center Back

The Zipper Details shown here demonstrate how the invisible zipper is hidden in either the side seam or center back seam. If not for the pull-tab, you wouldn't know there was a zipper. The placement of the zipper will vary, depending on the fabric chosen. Some fabrics are wide enough to allow the skirt to be cut with only two side seams. These will have a side seam zipper. Others are narrower, requiring the skirt to be cut in three or four pieces. These will have a center back zipper. Fabrics that would show shading in the color if cut as two pieces will also have a center back zipper.

The waistband lies smoothly, with enough ease for comfort. Our buttons are fabric covered (Side Seam View) or carefully chosen to compliment the fabric (Center Back View). All are hand-sewn and knotted. The stitching will not unravel.

Removable Lining Detail

The Inside Zipper photo shows how neatly finished our skirts are inside. There are no exposed seam allowances. The waistband is as finished and smooth as on the outside. The lining neatly frames the inside of the zipper. It is carefully stitched to insure it will not be caught when closing the zipper.

Skirts made in stretch fabrics come with a detachable lining. The lining adds body to support and shape the drape of the fabric. Most stretch knit fabrics fall closer to the body and drape in softer folds without the lining. They can be worn without the lining if you prefer. The look is most like that of the woven fabrics with it. A comparison view of the lined and unlined versions is available so that you may see the difference.

The detachable lining has a grosgrain ribbon waistband with a snap closure. The ribbon lies flat and smooth under the waistband of the skirt without adding bulk. When on, it snaps to the waistband of the skirt to prevent shifting.

Circle Skirt In Motion

The Circle Skirt In Motion

The Circle Skirt has a sweeping, full hemline, which swings with graceful, flowing movement. If opened, it forms a full circle. Before marking and cutting the hem, the skirt is hung on a dress form for 24 hours. This allows the bias sections to stretch before hemming, eliminating the dipping, uneven hemlines often found in off the rack versions.
Circle Skirt Full Hem Sweep

This photo demonstrates how full the hem sweep is. When the sides are held open, you can see the front forms a half circle, with the back forming the other half.
